Film News – March 2023

Arty Party have been sharing phenomenal award winning films in disability and main stream film festivals around the world. Many of Arty Party’s films come from the members’ own stories, own dances and own lives. Our installation entitled ‘Four Solos in the Wild’ (www.solosinthewild.com) was exhibited at the Tate Modern in spring 2018.

We work with professional artists with and without disabilities to produce work which defies stereotypes in its quality, power and messages.

In November 2019, Arty Party were presented with an Outstanding Contribution to Cinema Award.

Arty Party’s Secret Lives’ series of short films, featuring adapted stories by fantasy novelist Jeff Van Der Meer, have been shown at over 50 festivals worldwide, winning many awards.

The scripts and stories for these films are inspired, created and acted by members of Storymakers, a performance based Arty Party group meeting at The Trinity Centre in Shrewsbury .
